Celebrating more than 10 years in existence Pearl Django continues to be one of America’s busiest Hot Club style groups. Their music reaches out across the divides of taste to a wide variety of audiences.
The band's fervent followers include Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli fans, guitar enthusiasts (and guitarists!), lovers of string music, including bluegrass devotees, who relish nimble, clean, intricate picking, "world music" fans drawn to French and Gypsy accents, plus jazz buffs and aficionados of the new swing music.

Filé Gumbo played their unique blend of Louisiana musical styles on Tuesdays at the New Orleans Restaurant in Seattle's Pioneer Square for 15 years! The group has made several recordings (see below) and has appeared with Queen Ida, Katie "Queen of the Swamp Boogie Piano" Webster, Buckwheat Zydeco and the Sundogs, as well as appearing on TV, radio and at a number of music festivals over the years. Whether it's Rockin' Cajun, Zydeco Soul, New Orleans Rhythm & Blues, Swamp Pop, Dixieland, Country Blues, Tex-Mex, Western Swing or other Southern idioms, Filé Gumbo makes you feel like you're on the bayous of Southwestern Louisiana or Eastern Texas, and it's party time!

La Famille Leger

La Famille Leger is an old school family band playing the music of their heritage: the traditional music of Quebec and New Brunswick. La Famille Leger plays the instrumental dance music of French Eastern Canada on fiddle, accordion, guitar, piano and pieds (clogging). Patriarch Louis Leger leads the band on the one-row accordion. Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Louis grew up speaking French as his first language. Louis and his fiddling son, Devon, are joined by Devon's wife, Dejah, on piano and Devon's mom, Barbara, on guitar. La Famille Leger plays music for dancing, music handed down through generations in the New World, music from the backwoods and kitchen parties of French Canada.

BONNIE BIRCH

Bonnie began accordion lessons at the age of 7. Her primary teacher up to the age of 19 was Thorild Swanson from Stancatto School of Accordion. Thor was a classically trained musician on the piano and organ and was noted for his attention to detail and desire for perfection. With his guidance, Bonnie developed excellent technique, music reading skills, performing skills, and the appreciation of practice and patience. She was a consistent winner at the Washington Accordion Teachers competitions culminating in a trip to New York for an International competition and a performance in Carnegie Hall.

STEEPLECHASE PRODUCTIONS AND PLAYING FRENCH SEATTLE

A troupe of local actors from Steeplechase Productions and Playing French Seattle will stage a reading of a new bilingual adaptation of Charles Dickens' "A Tale of Two Cities," french translation by Jeanne Métifeu-Béjeau.

Rebecca Gordon will sing La Marseillaise.It is the national anthem of France. It was written and composed by Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle in 1792 and adopted in 1795 as the nation's first anthem. Then the public could enjoy "The Star-Spangled Banner", the national anthem of the United States of America.

François Pernel is a French harpist, playing on a Salvi Donegal harp which is a celtic harp. In a programme which features his own arrangements of traditional music alongside compositions in the style of Satie, Chopin, Scriabin and Messiaen, and music by the late great Breton harpist Kristen Noguès, François Pernel demonstrates extraordinary originality and versatility. Listen out for unexpected rhythms, deep harmonies, swing, improvisation – and a few surprises!

Madleen Gratien is a French violinist
She started playing violin when she was 5 years old. At 9 years old, she got a place in the musical Conservatory of Nantes where she is following script curse now.
She got her certificate for the end of musical studies in music theory and for the 3rd cycle of violin. She plays in numerous orchestras as violin 1 like the Shango Blues Band of Bob Destiny.
Besides, she follows in the same way scientific studies (license biology/biochemistry).

With years of formal jazz study and performance combined with a set of diverse influences from Robert Glasper to Pierre de Bethmann to Hermeto Pascoal, the band has built a singular sound and focuses more on group vibe and concept than on individual flash and fireworks. On stage, Hardcoretet represents a departure from your average unrehearsed solo-centric jazz."

PAMPLEMOUSSE

Composed of Marchette Dubois (Accordeonist) and Ines Andrade (French vocalist) Pamplemousse will bring you back to French 30s through 50s with some peppy and seducing songs from the era. You'll be swaying to titles such as "La vie en Rose", "Mon manege a moi", "Mon amant de St Jean" and "Domino".
